How to use a BrickColor in Roblox Studio

  1. Search your color by hex, RGB or name.
  2. Copy the BrickColor.new("…") code and paste it in your script, or type the name in the part's BrickColor property.
  3. If the BrickColor is not close enough, use Color3.fromRGB in the Color property, which accepts any color.

The data (name, number, palette index and RGB) comes from the official BrickColor reference in the Roblox documentation. Want a full palette for your clothing? Use the palette generator or the color extractor.

FAQ

What is a BrickColor?

It is a fixed list of named colors that Roblox uses. It is different from Color3, which accepts any RGB color. Many older properties, like body part colors in some games, use BrickColor.

How many BrickColors are there?

The official documentation lists 208 colors. 128 of them make up the 128-color palette used by BrickColor.palette().

Why is my color not exact?

Because BrickColor only has fixed colors. We find the one that looks closest. If you need the exact color, use Color3.fromRGB with the code we give you.

Does it work for my shirt?

Yes: if you want your clothing to match a skin tone or parts of a game that uses BrickColor, copy the hex and use it in the editor.
