How to make pixel art for your clothing

  1. Upload an image with good contrast. If it has a background, remove it first with the background remover.
  2. Raise the pixel size until you get the look you want.
  3. Lower the colors for a more retro look. The dark outline helps it stand out on the fabric.
  4. Turn it into a T-shirt or put it on the front of your shirt.

FAQ

What pixel size should I use?

For a 512×512 T-shirt, 8 to 16 gives a clear retro look. Bigger looks more "8-bit"; smaller keeps more detail.

Why limit the colors?

Classic pixel art uses few colors. Fewer colors make the drawing look cleaner and more retro.

Does it get blurry when enlarged?

No. We export without smoothing so each pixel keeps sharp edges.
